Shady Grove at Peacock River Ranch

Located in the heart of central Texas, Peacock River Ranch offers rustic hill country charm with a mix of elegant indoor and outdoor event spaces. Peacock River Ranch is situated on 32 acres and has three unique venues to meet your needs: Shady Grove, Stone Ridge and Thistle Hall.

Shady Grove is an authentic-style barn with wood plank walls and floors connected to an expansive grassy area complete with an outdoor bar and fireplace. The barn creates the perfect setting for weddings, receptions, dances and parties.

Shady Grove’s barn has an attached warming kitchen for the caterer, grooms area located in the barn, and a separate bridal suite. The bridal suite called the Peachick House has a half bath, lighted makeup mirrors, and a screened in back porch that gives you a great view that overlooks the river valley below while the front porch looks out over the ranch’s sprawling fields and peacocks.

Shady Grove at Peacock River Ranch can accommodate up to 210 guests indoors and over 300 guests when utilizing both the barn and outside space. A recent add-on of an outdoor covered deck makes room to entertain an additional 75 to 100 guests with stunning views of the hill country. There are six cabins onsite that can be rented to lodge overnight guests.

Lastly, Thistle Hall is a smaller venue located in historic downtown Gatesville that can hold events up to 100 guests. Thistle Hall’s old west atmosphere makes for an intimate location for a reception, bridal shower or other wedding-related events. A ceremony can be held at a local church, inside Thistle Hall or the courthouse lawn. Chairs and tables are provided; however, there is no sound system.
